FILA Holdings’ latest sustainability report, “YOUR FILA IMPACT - FILA Integrated Report 2023,” has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability management by unveiling FILA’s annual performance and ambitions in a range of areas from product circularity to supply chain transparency.
This is the fifth publication of the report since FILA Holdings established its “YOUR FILA IMPACT 2025” sustainability goal back in 2019. For FY2023, FILA Holdings has adopted the sustainability theme "Change the Game: From Deuce to Victory." This theme draws inspiration from the pivotal moments of a tennis match, symbolizing our strategic and vigorous commitment to leading in sustainability efforts.
Starting with FILA's environmental impact, 2023 marked a transformational period in its commitment to sustainable products. FILA took bold strides in reducing environmental impact and enhancing product circularity. Our pioneering upcycling program, initiated in 2022, has expanded to transform footwear waste into new product components, such as insoles and in-store interior materials, including shoe risers. This effort underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Moreover, FILA Holdings announced the group's sustainability initiative “FILA Re:Deuce” this year, a testament to our dedication to sustainable practices across all operations. The initiative, marked by its distinct logo, emphasizes reduction and seizing critical opportunities for environmental responsibility. The "FILA Re:Deuce" label guarantees our customers access to products backed by transparent, reliable, and measurable sustainability credentials. This label is reserved for products meeting stringent certification standards, underscoring our commitment to authenticity and avoiding greenwashing risks.
Also, in 2023, FILA continued activities to improve supply chain transparency and ensure the human rights and safety of its partners. To this end, its sustainability management organization was significantly strengthened through the establishment of a Sustainability Team within FILA Holdings, and a dedicated supply chain sustainability Compliance Team in its sourcing entities. FILA’s group-wide efforts to ensure supply chain transparency included conducting third-party audits of partners and revising the selection criteria for key suppliers based on factors such as compliance levels, productivity, and partnerships.
FILA Holdings’ sustainability management to date has already received positive evaluations from a number of external evaluation agencies. For the second year running, it earned “Best ESG Fashion Company” recognition from the Sustainable Fashion Initiative (SFI), while it also received a “Low Risk” rating from ESG evaluation agency Sustainalytics. Its industry-leading performance in Korea was underscored with an “A” ESG rating from the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance, an “A” ESG rating from Sustinvest, and a “B+” from the Korea ESG Research Institute.
“FILA is dedicated to exploring ways to continuously provide our stakeholders with the values of sports and beauty,” an official from FILA Holdings said. “Through various policies and actions, we are progressively integrating sustainability across all aspects of our business, driving significant change.”
